Bram Stoker

Abraham ("Bram") Stoker, 1847-1912, Irish novelist.

Stoker's first novel, Dracula, appeared in 1897, and established a long vogue for vampire fiction. None of his later works ever achieved the same degree of popularity.

The most famous film adaptation of Dracula, the Universal production starring Bela Lugosi, appeared in 1930, the year before the Whale-Karloff movie version of Frankenstein.
