Critical Approaches
[As a means of fostering access to broad critical approaches
repeatedly encountered with Frankenstein, both the text, in regard
to areas commonly cited by critics in this regard, and the commentary have
been loosely keyed in terms of methodology. This linkage is not, however,
intended to be in any sense definitive, nor should it be construed in a
reductive manner, since most critics adopt inclusive perspectives that can
touch on a number of different approaches in the same essay. Rather,
these links might best be understood as providing starting-points for any
particular line of investigation being undertaken by the reader.
