Irish magistrate who charges Victor Frankenstein with the death of Clerval (3.4.3).

When Frankenstein falls into another fever, this one lasting two months, Kirwin nurses him back to health until Victor's father arrives (3.4.4). Afterwards, Kirwin, convinced of Frankenstein's innocence, serves as his defense (3.4.10).
